Girls Tier II NYSAHA Champions!
The Massena 14U River Queens will be heading to Nationals, after winning the NYSAHA Tier II Girls Hockey Championship in Amherst on March 9th.
After losing to the CP Dynamo 4-0 in game 1, the team fought back hard to win the next four games, including beating the same CP Dynamo team 4-3 in overtime in the championship game. This success is a direct result of their endless effort, passion, and tenacious attitudes.
This amazing accomplishment marks the sixth time a Massena girls’ team has claimed the state title since 1980.
Off to Nationals (April 2 - April 6)
The girls will travel to Coral Springs, FL in three short weeks to compete in the 2025 Chipotle USA Hockey Girls Tier II 14U National Championships. This will be a wonderful opportunity for the team to represent Massena (and surrounding communities), as well as experience personal development and growth, enhance team camaraderie, create lifelong memories, compete at the highest level of hockey, and hopefully bring home a National Championship, like the 1981-1982 Massena Chicks Midget team!!!
